Tyler Harper began his career as a reporter-editor at The Canadian Press in Toronto where he worked for over six years on the sports desk. He went on to be a supervising editor at theScore and is now working as a reporter at the Nelson Star as well as a freelance journalist.
Harper has significant reporting experience, having covered such sports events as the World Baseball Classic, the Honda Indy Toronto and the Rogers Cup. He's also provided coverage of MLB, NBA and MLS games.
In his reporting at the Star, Harper has written extensively on the opioid crisis, affordable housing, poverty, municipal politics, education and local sports organizations
Outside of the newsroom, Harper is a teaching assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University where he provides feedback to first-year journalists.
